Resizing these particular bands is not so easy, but it can be done. Here's what you need to know.
Steps
1. Get a small nail with a long point and a high quality, precision set flathead screwdriver, preferably under 1.5 mm wide.
2. Find the arrows. Don't try to do this with a link that doesn't have arrows and don't do it with the links at the ends of the band. Also, remember that you want it to come out even on your wrist, so try to take a link from each side of the band if you're taking two out.
3. Choose your link pin and place the nail in the hole. Grip the whole watch tightly and tap on the nail head until you see a little peg poking out of the band bottom. Note: if you look closely, one end of the pins is solid while the other is divided and has a faint line through it; you want to push on the solid side. The divided side is expanded to grip the link, and if you bang on the solid side you should only need to push it a quarter of an inch before it slides out.
4. Put the screwdriver in the small niche under the arrow and start sliding the pin down. Eventually, you may get the pin out far enough to grip it with needle-nose pliers, but by then it usually slips out on its own, between your fingers.
Tips
· Keep the links and spare pins. You may need them someday.
Warnings
· Do it over a soft surface, preferably while sitting.
· Watch out for slippage. Those screwdrivers can hurt.
