How to Get Used to Wearing a Watch

Often times when people start wearing a watch, they are not used to it, and feel awkward and unconfident. Watches can be useful for telling the time, and in some cases, the date too.

Steps

1. Pick something that you like. You don't want anything too sharp, tight, or loose. You should like the way it looks and it should feel comfortable. It should be waterproof and somewhat durable too. For the band, metal is the fanciest but it's also usually heavy and fragile; for more casual use, you can have a nylon Velcro fast-strap or a leather band, but never plastic, as it can easily snap and does not absorb sweat, causing the inside to be really sweaty.

2. Ignore it. Don't constantly fiddle with or take it off. Just act like it's not there and you will forget it's there.

3. With a shirt makes it easier. If you have a shirt or something down over your wrist, you may be less likely to notice the watch as much.

4. Wear it as much as possible. A widely accepted rule of thumb is that the more you wear something, the faster you will get used to it.

5. Most importantly, enjoy wearing it

Tips

· Periodically fine-tune it to be at the exact time. You can use time.gov as a basis.

· Take good care of it.

· Clean it often.

· If you wear it more than 50% of the time, you will start to always feel like you need to know the time and deprived when you don't, and also, your wrist will feel naked without it.

Warnings

· Make sure you don't lose your watch.

· Don't let the face get scratched by going to sleep with it, playing rough sports or activities.

· Wear it at home but remember to remove it before you shower unless you have a water-resistant watch.

How to Tell if Gold Is Real

In the United States, it is illegal to sell a product as gold if it is less than 10 karats. Here are a few tests you can run to test if the gold is real without damaging it.
Steps
1. Before purchasing the gold, check the label, if it has one. On rings the stamp will be on the inside and on bracelets and necklaces it will be in the clasp.
2. If the label does not say 10k, 14k, 18k, or 22k, then it is probably not real gold.
3. Ask the person who is selling it about how many karats are in the piece of jewelry.
4. Test the density of gold. It is about 19.3 grams/cm cubed, which is much higher than most other metals. Platinum, iridium, osmium, and neptunium are the only metals with density higher than 20 grams/cm cubed. To test its density, use a scale and a graduated cylinder. First weigh the gold, and then put some water in the graduated cylinder. It doesn't matter how much, but keep note of the amount. Then put the gold inside the water (this won't damage it) and note the water level. Get the difference between the two numbers for the volume of the gold. Density= mass/volume. If the answer is close to 19 grams/cm cubed, then it is real gold.
5. If you do not care if there is a small dent in the gold, bite into it. Because real gold is softer than fake, if it stays intact then it is fake.
6. Use the streak method. Take the gold and streak it across an unglazed piece of porcelain. If it is black, it is fool's gold, but if it is goldish-yellow, it is real.
7. Another test is the hardness test. According to Moh's scale, you should not be able to scratch glass with gold, but with fake gold, such as Pyrite, you should be able to.
8. Pyrite, which is fake gold, if magnified 10 times, is actually made out of tiny cubes.
9. When gold is hammered, it will not break, but might bend. However, if Pyrite is smashed, it will break into tiny little cubes.
10. You can take it into a shop where they can test if it is real gold. This is an inexpensive way and it takes only a short amount of time.
Tips
Some methods will change the look of the gold, only if it is fake. You can put nitric acid or vinegar to test it. It will not change if it is real. Be very careful with nitric acid, it can burn your skin.
Warnings
· The density test will not work if the gold has gems or other material.

Over Wind or Over Wound Watch Mainspring

Where in the world did the phrase, "I over wound my watch" come from anyway? Do you think you can actually over wind your watch? Did someone tell you that you over wound your watch?

These are all good questions and to an extent, the term "over wind and over wound" are correct. Yes we know and have heard it at least a thousand times, that "you can't over wind" a watch. The people who say that have heard the term before, and don't know what they are talking about. They seem to parrot the phrase in order to impress someone with their knowledge of watches. Well, here we go, they may be right and they may be wrong as the term was used.

The term "over wind" originated back in the days of blue steel mainsprings and animal fat oils that were used to lubricate watches. So lets get one thing out of the way now. In technical terms, you can't actually over wind a watch. The mainspring will only go so far into its coil, if you could keep winding your watch, something would break. The stem might be the first thing to break, then for sure you would strip the teeth off the clutch. If the clutch and stem were to withstand the stress, then for sure the teeth in the crown wheel and ratchet wheel would strip. Now this would be over winding your watch. Now the details...

Blue steel mainsprings were rather weak in terms of their ability not to take on a "set." This is when the mainspring conforms itself to a little larger in size than the space it occupies within the mainspring barrel. When they take on a set, it is difficult for the fully wound mainspring to release itself from its own coils and powering the watch.

Watches were lubricated with animal fat oils. Over a period of about one year, these types of oils would tend to gel and become thick and tacky. Now, if you have both of these elements present in your watch, and you wind it up all the way, as far as it will go, the thick oil will bind the coils of the weak mainspring together and the coils will not slip and power the gear train. Here, you have now over wound your watch. Had you only wound it up say three forths of the way, the mainspring would still slip and provide some power to your watch. So you see, in this sense, you can and did over wind your watch.

Old jewelers many years ago, would tell people that they over wound their watchs and that was the reason they stopped. For the average customer, the lack of information was OK. Why go into great detail as to why the watch stopped. It just took time away from the bench. The jeweler would tell them the watch needed to be cleaned. This took care of the problem for about a year or so until it needed to be cleaned again.

It is interesting that now, after all of these years, we still hear people saying that they, "over wound" their watches. There are still many old watches out there that have not been serviced for decades. People will wind them up, and they will run for awhile, then one day, the dreadful "over winding" takes place.

White alloy mainsprings and synthetic watch oils. These were very important inventions in the field of horology. The white alloy springs for the most part would not break and maintained their original "S" shaped form. The new oils did not gel and become thick like the old animal fat oils. Watches could go for much longer periods of time without the need for yearly cleaning. With these modern advances, the old terminology of "over winding" started to slowly fade away, just like the old watchmakers who coined the phrase in the good old days. A period of horological history that has long since vanished.

We hope that you found this topic interesting and useful. If we can help you with your questions or solve your "over winding" questions.

ROLEX WATCH, FAKE ? HOW TO TELL

The Rolex watch is a status symbol, It’s the Rolls Royce of all Watches. If you have a Rolex, you probably have money, It tells others that you have it. This is why it’s the most copied watch in the world today. There is no better looking watch than a Rolex. The Submariner is trendy and sharp, while the Oyster is classic. One of the most copied is the Rolex Mens datejust. Probably one of the best looking watches ever made. many will argue and claim the Daytona as the best looking mens watch, I guess its personal choice.
If you buy direct from a dealer or watch store you will pay full price and get a genuine watch. However it IS possible to get a genuine Rolex watch from newspaper advertisements or better still here on E-Bay. The best deals on a Rolex watch can be found on e-bay. The GMT and Submariers can be found at 50% of retail.
Lots of the counterfeits now use mechanical movements that lets the sweep second hand glide around the dial chapters, Something common to all Genuine Rolex. Others use a quartz movement where the sweep second hand ticks every second as it steps around the dial, an obvious fake. However Rolex did make a few models that used quartz movements. This was in the 1980’s. They soon dropped the idea so don’t expect to see this. However a very few Rolex watches again with the quartz where made in 2003, These are the Air King models, rare and quite ugly, dont expect to see one. If it has a second hand that ticks, it’s probably a fake. The latest model is the Geneve Cellini, these are classic watches and although produced by Rolex in 2007 the mens versions are Hand-Wound he ladies version has a quartz movement. The watch on the right is fake, note short minute and second hand, they do not reach the minute markers. and they are cheaply just cut square, the genuine Rolex are rounded.
Some of the anti-counterfeiting methods are:
You can take your watch to a qualified watchmaker and let him/her determine if your watch is genuine Rolex or not. Or you can remove the watchband. Check between the lugs at the 12 position and see if it has an engraved "Registered Design" number. If you see no number, it is fake. Now check between the lugs at the 6 position. Here you should see a serial number of the case. If there is no number, again it is fake.
Small engraved Rolex crown at 6 o'clock on the crystal Most fake Rolex’s now have this feature, but use a much cruder and larger crown than Rolex uses. Rolexes crown is difficult to spot with the naked eye. Most replicas have a crown so large you can spot it easily while it's on your wrist.
On gold colored watches, look for signs of wear on the lug ends and on the case backs. Fake Rolex watches will often display area where the gold color has worn off, exposing the cheap white colored base metal of the case below. Check the watch bands and look at the clasp. The Rolex clasp is nicely engraved with the old original Rolex emblem. This appears on both gold and stainless clasps on watchbands.
Another thing to look for is the weight of the watch. Gold Rolex watches are very very heavy as compared to the fakes, which are Very light for their apparent mass. This is because the weight of gold is much greater than the weight of a base metal. Stainless steel Rolex watches also has more weight to them because stainless is also much thicker and heavier than the base metal used in cheap fake watches.
Engraving on band end-links, Some new Rolex models have added model number engravings on the end of the watch end-link. This engraving includes the band model as well as two small Rolex crowns. This however has started to be copied by fake producers.
This great looking Rolex Oyster datejust is sadly a Fake. Its such a good fake that is also has the Hack Mechanism ( Second hand stops when the crown is pulled out. A standard feature on all genuine Rolex watches produced after 1982) It even has the green Rolex sticker on the back, Hiding clasp just like the original, Gold plated, Screws in the links not pins, Infact all the correct markings in place, I was nearly fooled, but the crown was not scerw-in, and when I opened it and took the back off, It was easy to tell it was not genuine as the workings where cheap and poor quality. plus no Rolex symbol on the wheel inside. or the base plate. Overall a great Replica, only spolit by the inside. Plus a spelling mistake on the fake certificate.

The Tudor.
Rolex
do also make a watch called the Tudor. They are basically the same watches, some may have fewer jewels and they are not so highly advertised, but in general the same watches, and still made by Rolex. It is VERY rare to come across a fake Tudor, but they are out there. Why? It’s really like going out buying a Roll Royce and sticking a Ford badge on the front.
Most genuine Rolex owners like the name, the brand and class that a Rolex projects. Either here is a successful man/woman or someone that wants the best. The Tudor has none of this its just a great watch. Producers of fakes will not go to the trouble of copying a Tudor, when the final sales price will be lower.
What do I do If I discover my Rolex is a fake? If you bought it on e-bay and paid by pay pal. Contact pal pal. Plus contact the local Police, they have a department to investigate fruad, and scams like this. It will help others in the future. Pal pal will issue investigate, and you will probably get your money back.
Cartier Watches and Other Fakes.
The Cartier watch is now sadly being mass produced in China. A high end watch store in Hollywood, CA had 3 of them in stock. After an insurance auditor noticed them. The store staff, many with experiance had not noticed the fakes. They had been traded in for Rolex watches. If Experianced staff at such a store ( I cant name the store, ) can be fooled what chance has the average man in the street have. Buy a Cartier only from an authorised dealer, These fakes are really good. Cartier is going to train its own staff and is producing a manual to help with checking to see if its Genuine. Philip Stein, A.Lange & Sohne, Omega and Brietling have also come onto the fake markets.
May 10th 2007 Mike Korpi from Portland Orgean came back from China with 8 fake Rolex watches. he paid $14.40 each, however when US customs found them he was fined $55,300. This was said to be the value of the counterfiet goods. Mike Korpi said they where for his children and grandchildren. Rolex can sue and demand $100,000 for each watch if they wanted. I dont think they will, but either way this should be a lesson to all. For better detals the best book you can buy and is well worth spending a few bucks is A Movement in Time with Breitling & Rolex: An Unauthorized History.

How to Start an Antique Pocket Watch Collection

What makes a good pocket watch buy? Buying an antique pocket watch is not all about getting a bargain - it's about paying a fair and reasonable price for a particular watch that will give you pleasure to own. With this in mind, here is a short checklist so that you can make your first pocket watch buy with a little more confidence. It is by no means a definitive guide, but merely a guide to assist you with your purchase.
If you'd like to start collecting something that is relatively inexpensive yet has the potential for big rewards, start collecting antique pocket watches!

Steps
Here are a few questions to consider:
Who is the maker?
What is the age of the watch? Get this by looking up the serial number and using a good guide book. The guide book will tell you the rarity factor and give a (very) rough guide as to the price you might pay.
Is the pocket watch picture(s) of the actual watch being sold? If not, why not? Always see what you are going to pay for.
Is the pocket watch original? This may be a hard one to really get an answer for, but the more original it is the more valuable it will be.
Does the seller have any information about the watch with regards to any repairs?
What work (if any) has been done on the watch? (maybe unrelated to repairs, e.g, cleaning)
Does the seller know of any mechanical problems with the watch? Important - Does the watch run, and for how long, when placed in several different positions? (i.e, face up, face down or vertical)
Who did the work? - Useful to get an idea of repair costs.
What is the pocket watch case made of?
Is there any wear on the case - especially relevant to Gold Filled cases.
Does the seller know anything about the history of the pocket watch?

Warnings
Be careful of vague descriptions.
If it sounds too good to be true - it probably is!
Check out the sellers feedback ratings if buying from eBay.
Make sure any faults are disclosed.

Something to Watch for in Fossil Watches

During the early months of the 1990s, Fossil, a brand founded in 1984 selling men’s and women’s apparel (as well as accessories), focused on selling watches. The act led to a new avenue for Fossil, an area of “specialization” for the company to soon become known for: Fossil Watches.

Since then Fossil watches have become a household name, taking its place among other well known watch brands. Catering to a wide and varied market, Fossil Watches litter production lines to suit various lifestyles. Sport watches, fashion watches, and formal wear watches. For every occasion, Fossil watches fit in perfectly.

Various “watch technologies” also fuel the success of Fossil watches. Automatic quartz watches running on power generated from body movement or watches simply run by batteries, the technological innovation behind Fossil watches runs congruent with the status quo people look for in a fine timepiece these days. Truly at par with other watch brands.

A keen eye with the direction of fashion has also made Fossil watches what it is now. Avant-garde with their approach when it comes to designing their watches, Fossil watches are not simply items that tell the time. “Customizable” is the niftiest thing when it comes to Fossil Watches. A predefined “template for design” could be modified to suit a customer’s visual wants. Your Fossil watch could be littered with a funky tribal design, or a more serious Mondrian inspired line scheme. The choice is entirely yours. An avenue for expression.

Of the brand’s more popular watch type, The FS4171, an automatic timepiece (meaning it operates using power generated from one’s own movement), is worth mentioning. Its often described as “more refined” brother, The FS4231 also stands equal with the FS4171.

The FS4171 simply appears to be a regular steel watch, only it comes with a “see the technology running behind it” aspect. One could literally see the rotor (the bit that aids in operating the mini power generator) behind the watch’s face, and visibly see it moving as one is moving one’s arm.

The FS4231 appears no different, except that it has a leather strap, different from the FS4171. The rotor’s color compliments whatever color the strap has, giving its design a sense of color scheme consistency.

In these fast changing times, Fossil watches easily take their role as a household name. Be you into sports, or x-games, there’s a Fossil watch for you. Be you a top executive, or up and coming employee, a Fossil watch goes beyond saying just how serious, yet flexible, you are.

Wear Your Watch on the Right Wrist to Protect Your Heart: Common Sense and the Left-Handed Heart Meridian

Right-handed people usually wear a watch on their left wrist. But wearing a battery-powered watch on the right is safer for the heart meridian running down your left arm..
If you’re right-handed, you probably wear a watch on your left wrist. You might consider switching, however, when you consider the impact that your watch’s battery can have on the health of your heart meridian and, ultimately, on your heart.

What is the Heart Meridian?
The heart is one of the 14 major organs and systems in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Each of these organs has a corresponding meridian, a line of energy flow through the body that becomes strong or weak in tandem with that body part. In healing a weakened organ, the energy of the related meridian is used both to diagnose the health of the body and as a means to begin to strengthen it.
The meridian system has been used and translated into dozens of different energy healing techniques (including energy psychology, Energy Medicine, Touch for Health, Brain Gym, and accupuncture) because the approach is so effective.

How Does a Watch Battery Affect the Meridian?
The meridians are subtle energy structures and can be very sensitive to the objects and materials that surround our bodies. Magnets and other metals, in particular, are known to affect the energy of the meridians.
Wearing any piece of jewelry for long can bring on fatigue or have the opposite effect and make the wearer over-energized. Some people are so sensitive that they have to remove earrings or other jewelry after only a few minutes, because the metal charges with their energy and begins to affect the way they feel. Glasses with metal frames can have tiny holes drilled at the end of the “arms” to discharge energy, but that can’t be done to most decorative jewelry or to watches.
Anything that crosses over a meridian is likely to affect it. 6 of the 14 meridians have paths that run down the arms and fingers, so bracelets, rings, and watches all have the potential to affect these lines of energy. Watches are especially a hazard because of their batteries and the mechanical motion, both of which have the potential to disrupt the normal flow of meridian energy.

Why is the Heart Meridian, in Particular, at Risk?
Because the heart has its own rhythm and our very life depends on it not being disrupted, most healing approaches that use meridians are very cautious of anything that may affect the heart meridian.
A watch’s mechanical motion is mildly disruptive, but watch batteries, with their intense electromagnetic charges, can be very hazardous to the steady flow of energy in a meridian - especially for people whose hearts are weak or who know they are at risk for a heart attack or other circulatory problems.
The heart meridian occurs on both sides of the body, so it runs down both arms and hands. The heart meridian on the left side, however, is the more significant because of the position of the heart in the left side of the chest cavity.

Solutions to the watch-battery energy dilemma
You may have heard of people whose bodies make watches stop. They can put on a watch and within seconds, minutes or days, the watch stops running. People like this have one of the solutions spelled out for them: Don’t wear a watch. It’s easy to rely on wall clocks or a cell phone timer instead.
Alternately, there are some watches available that need to be wound or that wind themselves based on movement. These watches are a safe alternative for most people that won’t disrupt the heart.
If you absolutely must wear a battery-operated watch, wear it on your right wrist.

Watch Worth Millions of Dollars

What thing would you pay millions of dollars for? In fact, I can't believe there is something in this world worth the fortune. I was naturally even more amazed to find out that this million-requiring item is possible to be placed at one's wrist. Who would dare put on a watch worth $9 million? Right, nobody! The treasury is kept at Vacheron Constantin's Geneva headquarters.

The out-of-this world diamond watch is called Kallista, meaning the most majestic in Greek. The world- renowned watch-making masterpiece was created for Vacheron Constantin by the designer Raymond Moretti in 1979. If you adore diamonds, this thing is just right for you - imagine 118 flawless emerald-cut diamonds united by one timepiece. The brilliance of Kallista weighing 2.2 pounds will make you blind but I'm sure you won't be able to take your eyes of it.

There naturally appears the question - why is the most expensive watch almost never seen on someone's wrist? Its owner, some Arab sheik, has delegated Vacheron Constantin to take care of Kallista, provide its safeness and proper performance. The sheik is not the only person who took the challenge of becoming the watch's owner - the diamond piece has changed hands time and again, still there is some mystery surrounding their personalities.

The owners of Vacheron Constantin watches prefer to remain in the shade, however some of them are quite well-known - Larry King and Charlie Sheen from the present-day heroes, but what will you say about the ones from the past? Napoleon Bonaparte, the Duke of Windsor and Harry Truman, Pope Pius XI, as well as numerous Egyptian kings and Arab sheiks entered the legendary list.

The Kallista watch provided the company's watchmakers with inspiration for creating a series of limited edition diamond timepieces formed into the Kalla collection which was launched in 1981. The models from the collection were crowned with such impressive titles like Queen Kalla, Regent Kalla and Earl Kalla, and surprising - the King Kalla. The 50 carats of diamonds were required to give birth to the timepiece. What do you think the price of the watch is? The King Kalla is also millions-worth - between $2 -3 million. The single-edition Lady Kalla was destined for Diana, Princess of Wales. It was a wedding gift carved from 18-carat white gold presented by some mysterious Arab sheik. The secret-watch comprised 108 emerald-cut flawless diamonds, with the dial embellished by 26 more diamonds. Somebody estimated the timepiece to be worth about $500,000, but I'm sure it will soon join the list of those millions-worth.

Well, probably you do not know how to spend your thousands or millions of dollars - an exclusive watch is a smart way out if you are courageous enough to wear a fortune on your wrist.

Lucquin champion in Switzerland

Jean-François Lucquin described it as "a dream" after he won the Omega European Masters at Crans-sur-Sierre in thrilling fashion following a play-off with Rory McIlroy. The Frenchman shot a bogey free 67 to wipe out the 19 year old from Northern Ireland’s four shot overnight lead and snatched the title with a birdie at the second play-off hole.
Lucquin birdied the par five first before a string of pars on the front nine.He birdied the par three eighth and then picked up shots on consecutive holes at the tenth and 11th.On the 18th he made a solid putt for par, which proved crucial as he finished on 12 under par for the tournament.McIlroy, trying to become the third-youngest winner in European Tour history, missed a five foot putt for par at the 18th that would have given him the title. But worse was to follow as he then missed again from only about 18 inches at the second play-off hole.It left Lucquin with two putts to win from 12 feet, but he needed only one of them for his first European Tour victory in 175 attempts.Lucquin said: "I have no words to explain what I am feeling. I don't know what happened (to McIlroy) on the second."He asked if he could finish, I said that was okay and he missed it. That made it easier for me."When I saw my wife and little boy it was a dream," he added.McIlroy started the final day four clear, but after bogeys on the second and third suddenly found himself one behind. At one point he was down to fourth, but back he came and a 20-foot birdie putt on the long 15th took him into the lead again. After pars on the next two he went over the back of the final green, chipped five feet past and missed it for a round of 71."Obviously I am very disappointed," he said. "I got very unlucky on the 18th in regulation, where it got a pretty big bounce for a sand wedge."I hit a good chip, but not a very good putt. Then second time around in the play-off it didn't really matter as he holed his."That made me feel a bit better after missing that putt. I can take a lot from this week - I played very well all week and played well coming down the stretch, but unfortunately one bad shot cost me."I came here after three missed cuts in a row and found a bit of form. It would have been nice to go home with the trophy, but I have plenty more tournaments even this year."It would be great to get a win this year, but if not I have the rest of my career. C'est la vie."Four players tied for third place, including home favourite Julien Clément, who finished an impressive tournament with a 68.Gary Orr and Miguel Angel Jiménez also finished 11 under par after both hit 67s today, with France’s Christian Cévaër also taking a share of third with a 68.

Knowing about Audemars Piguet watch

How to Change a Watch Battery

When your watch stops keeping correct time, there is something obviously wrong. First, ensure that your watch is NOT a automatic watch, since an automatic watch never need a battery. Before throwing it away, try to change the battery. Most of the time, when a battery starts going bad, it causes the time to run slow. After that, the watch stops running altogether.
Steps
1. Turn the watch over,Place a soft pad under the crystal of the watch. A towel or dish cloth will work to prevent scratching the crystal of the watch.
2. Remove the back cover. On some watches, the cover will pry off using a very small flat-bladed screwdriver or will have screws holding the cover on. On more other brands the entire cover will unscrew. Examine the edge of the back cover. If there is one small depression along the edge of the cover then the cover will pry off. If there are screws present, the cover will lift off after the screws are removed. If the cover has a raised edge with flat edges opposite to one another then the cover will unscrew.
3. Carefully remove the gasket. Almost all watches will have a rubber-like gasket around the edge of the back cover. Carefully remove the gasket and set it aside for re-assembly.
4. Locate the battery. The battery will be a round, shiny, metal pill-shaped object. It will vary in size but will most likely be less then 3/8 inch ( 9.5mm ) and larger then 1/4 inch in diameter ( 6mm ). It will be held into the case with either a cover and screw or a clip.
5. Remove the battery. If the battery is held with a cover and screw, remove the screw using a very small screwdriver. The head may be philips or slotted. Carefully set the screw and cover aside. Remove the battery and set it aside for identification. If the battery is held with a spring clip, pry the battery from under the clip with a small flat-bladed screwdriver. Note very carefully which side of the battery is facing outward and which side of the battery is facing into the watch case prior to removal.
6. Identify the battery. watch batteries are identified with numbers located on the back of the battery. The numbers are generally 3 or 4 digits such as 323 or 2037. Notice that one side of the battery is marked with a large plus sign. This is the positive s de.
7. Purchase the replacement battery. watch batteries may be purchased in the US in drug stores, discount stores, electronics stores and jewelery stores. The number of the battery ( not the watch model ) is required to purchase the battery. Bring the old battery.
8. Install the new battery. Remove the battery from its protective wrapper and wipe the battery to remove any film or fingerprints. Place the battery into the watch body in exactly the same position with the same side down as the old battery. Put the battery into the clip if a clip is provided or replace the cover and screw if they are used to hold the battery.
9. Check for operation. Turn the watch over and check to see that the second hand is advancing or that the seconds digital display is advancing depending on the type of watch.
10. Replace the gasket. Place the gasket onto the cover or into a groove provided for it in the case. Be very careful that the gasket is fully into the groove or around the cover evenly so that no part of the gasket will be pinched when the cover is installed on the watch body.
11. Replace the cover. Be careful not to damage the gasket. The gasket may be impossible to replace if damaged. (Note: this probably will require a special vice that you can either purchase yourself or (more likely) pay a watch shop or jeweler to use for you. There will usually be a small fee--around $10.)
12. Recheck operation of the watch.

Tips
· Be careful with screwdrivers. The watch case and crystal can be easily damaged by lack of caution when prying or removing screws with small screwdrivers.
· Be careful with the crystal. Pressing down on the caseback without cushioning the crystal may result in scratches or breaking the crystal
· Check carefully the cost of watch versus the cost of the battery. Some inexpensive watches will cost less than the price of the battery.
· Use a magnifier and adequate lighting to prevent small part loss.
· Use a black piece of construction paper to hold small parts. The contrast makes the parts easier to see.
· If you're still worried or uncertain about opening the case of your watch, consider taking it to either a jeweler or the watch/jewelry section of a department store. You can often have the work done cheaply or at no additional fee (other than buying the battery)

Warnings
· Small screwdrivers can cause deep puncture wounds if not used with caution. Do not work on a watch while holding it in a hand. Parts loss and injury can occur
· If you damage the watch trying to remove the battery, you may void the manufacturer's guarantee, and they will not pay to get it fixed again.
· Any battery brand can be used however the warranty is voided if you install the wrong battery model number.
· To avoid the risk of short circuiting the watch with static electricity use plastic or non-metallic tweezers to hold the battery and consider wearing an earthing strap or rubber gloves.

Do it wisely to buying replicas Chanel watch

A great looking watch is not hard to come by, but a great looking watch that is highly functional and of high quality on a budget is not as easy to come by. I work in a very competitive field where fashion is used as a status symbol, and the result is that I am always trying to keep up with what other people have. Many of the people that I work with have beautiful Swiss ceramic Chanel watches. I thought I would add one to my collection of accessories but was shocked at the prices! I knew I couldn't afford the real thing, so I started looking at replica watches.
I soon found if I was willing to spend a little bit that I could get Swiss ceramic Chanel replica watches that looked exactly like the real thing but I could purchase it on my budget. I shopped around for the replica that matched my style the best and bought it. I have been wearing it regularly ever since and even the people that have the real things are complimenting me on my purchase, never the wiser that what I am wearing is not an authentic piece. I have decided that I will keep on keeping up with the competition, but I'll do it wisely by buying Chanel replica watch and pocketing the extra cash!

What Makes a Good Replica?

There are a variety of quality levels of fake watches on the market today. Everything from cheapo Rolecks beaters that hardly make it home before they break to high-dollar replicas designed to fool even the experts. On what criteria do we judge what makes a 'good' fake? I'd break it down into different categories:
Quality of Materials — Pot metal cases and mineral glass crystals are always a good sign of a bad fake. Remember, the watches they emulate cost thousands of dollars. Rolex doesn't use the same case materials as that Timex you bought at Wal-Mart.
Quality of Construction — Many replicas are easy to spot just because they look "cheap". Anything from a poorly fitted bezel to a crown that doesn't screw in evenly is always a good sign to look for when determining if a watch is counterfeit.
Accuracy of Details — Since English isn't a primary language for many of the designers of fake watches many errors slip into the mix. "Nimited Edition" instead of "Limited Edition" is an example of this. Also the general trend to stamp cases with "750" and "18K Gold" when they're simply stainless steel is another example of a lack attention to details.
Accuracy of Functionality — Many replica watches that emulate a watch with a "GMT" hand (such as the Rolex GMT Master II) have a non-functional hand. This means instead of acting as a GMT hand (displaying a second time zone) they typically just follow the hour hand, as a 24-hour indicator. Also, many cheap replicas use a quartz movement instead of the accurate (and more expensive) automatic movement.
These factors are all taken into consideration when "grading" a fake watch. In some watches many of these points are painfully obvious. Up until recently Breitling replicas were horrible in all of these categories. They were easy to spot because their cheap dull cases and quartz movements gave them away at a glance. Since these factors have been improved within the last 12 months Breitling replicas are much harder to identify.
When evaluating a watch to determine if it's real or fake take the above factors into consideration. If a watch fails any one area then I'd become wary and request additional information. Is there a service history on the watch? Does it come with papers and the original box? Request as much information as possible in order to aid you in making your evaluation.

How to Put a Bracelet on by Yourself

When you are home alone, it can be difficult to clasp a bracelet on your wrist. You can try to place your wrist and the dangling bracelet against a dresser drawer, holding it in place with your stretched finger, or you can use this method. If you are lucky, one of them will work for you before you run out of patience.
Steps
1. Get some magic tape (the softer tape) and pull off a small piece.
2. Hold your bracelet and tape one end of the bracelet to your wrist.
3. Pull the rest of the bracelet around and attach it.
4. Remove the tape gently.
5. Or you could put the back of your forearm on a flat surface (with the bracelet under your wrist) and hold the buckle with your index finger and thumb. And then if possible, use your other hand to hold onto the buckle so now you have a free hand. So use your free hand to buckle you bracelet up. (ex. If you are putting your bracelet on your right arm, you put the back of your right forearm on a flat suface (with your bracelet under your wrist). Next, you take the buckle with your left index finger and thumb and then with your right hand, hold the buckle. Then use your left hand to buckle you bracelet.)
Tips
· Make sure you use tape that is gentle to the skin.
· If the bracelet is heavy, use your leg, a flat surface like a table or something similar to prop up the heavy dangling end of the bracelet - otherwise you will be writhing about to try and get the tape affixed.
· As small a piece of tape as is possible is best, to avoid it curling up on you while you attempt to stick it on.

Warinings
Do not use this tip if you have allergies to plastics, gums or band-aids. It may set off a reaction.

Wear Your Watch on the Right Wrist to Protect Your Heart

Why, How and Where to Buy a Replica Watch

Replica watches are basically inexpensive versions of original branded luxury watches. If you love watches and are interested in building a watch collection, replica watches could be an economical proposition. The beauty of replica watches is that one could buy many models and makes of watches for the cost of one, be it Omega, Tag Hauer, Cartier, Corum, Patek, Franck Muller, Breitling, Vacheron or a rolex replica.
Watch shopping
A watch is an accessory that makes a personal statement. Whether the watch is a simple wristwatch or a jeweled one, a replica watch or an original one, it is a symbol of expression and to most a status symbol. Crafting a watch, down the years has always been a question of elegance and prestige. The mind blowing range of watches available today makes the selection of a wrist watch thoroughly confusing and at times enticing. Although most watches available today use the latest quartz technology and require less or no maintenance.
Retail outlets are always your best bet to buy watches, since they facilitate the inspection of the watch and assure warranty and after sales service. Today’s watches incorporate a lot of steel and titanium because they are more popular, however, the luxury brands also incorporate platinum and gold. Watches also come with a lot of features including date-time functions, chronographs, alarms, water proofing etc. All the features and their use should be kept in mind while making a decision.
However, the availability of replica watches in a retail outlet is a slightly outrageous proposition. Replica watches are marketed by thousands of companies on the internet or hawked on the streets. Most of these companies offer warranty and support anywhere between 30 days to 1 year. If you are considering buying a replica watch from the internet, make sure you verify the price from as many sources as possible and use your credit card to buy one, since it will help in implementing the warranties specified. Try and check the credential of the company, if you can, before you make the purchase decision. Most replica watches are generally available in the range of $100 to $1000. These are exact reproductions of popular brands and models replicated along with logos, markings, serial numbers and all other external features. Replica watches comes from three major sources, Japan, South East Asia and Switzerland. Replica watches from Switzerland are considered the best and thus have a higher price tag.
Replica watches
Replica watches have a very high demand in the growing and “beginning to succeed” breed of people, who would like to enhance their personality and make statement amongst their friends and colleagues. The most popular amongst this class of people is the Rolex replica watch. Rolex being the most sought after brand, a Rolex replica that is Swiss made commands a very high price. Swiss made Rolex replica watches are known to be the best they can come close to the original. They differ only in weight and feel which can be distinguished by the most experienced of hands.
Rolex Replicas: The most common available replica is the popular Swiss brand - Rolex, a brand known for high quality and high price. Genuine Swiss-made Rolex replicas are so close to the real Rolex that it is sometimes almost impossible to identify the difference. However, they differ in weight, feel and many other characteristics which can only be classified by the most experienced eye and hands.
Other brands include Omega, Bvalgari, Patek and Cartier that are in most demand. Replica watches of these brands are also available, however they rank only after the most sought after Rolex replica.
